Rural Tailgate Inspection Service launching 17 February 2025

Darwin Port is excited to announce that from Monday 17^th February 2025, we will be launching our new Rural Tailgate Inspection Service in line with our Approved Arrangement 14.4.

Rural Tailgates occur when containers are moved outside of the Greater Darwin area and will be conducted by our trained and qualified Landside Operations Team.

Inspections can be requested through the Biosecurity Portal - Home · Biosecurity Portal.

The cost of our new service can be found on our Tariff Schedule of Rates.

Darwin Port is committed to working with our stakeholders and supporting new capabilities and service in 2025 to streamline the process of moving containerised cargo through our port.
