To the owner, master and/or occupier of Jedgarra
We refer to the previous direction dated 25 November 2025 (Direction), issued under the Ports Management Act 2015 (NT) (PMA), relating to the vessel Jedgarra that broke from its small vessel mooring during Tropical Cyclone Fina and is currently fouled against Stokes Hill Wharf (Vessel).

To the owner, master and/or occupier of Jedgarra

We refer to the Jedgarra that broke from its small vessel mooring at approximate position 12 28.091s 130 51.315e during Tropical Cyclone Fina and is fouled against Stokes Hill Wharf.

Darwin Port is concerned the deteriorating condition of the vessel is a threat or danger to vessels or other property connected with commercial shipping in the port.

HYDRA CAT - SECTION 42 DIRECTION

To the owner, master and/or occupier of Hydra Cat.

We refer to the Hydra Cat (IMO 8506957) that broke from its small vessel mooring at approximate position 12 27.832s 130 51.337e during Tropical Cyclone Fina and is in Sandgroves Creek on the northern break wall outside of the Francis Bay mooring facility.

Darwin Port is concerned the deteriorating condition of the vessel is a threat or danger to vessels or other property connected with commercial shipping in the port.

Notice of Open Waters from 1100 on 24 November 2025

Pursuant to subsection 50(1) of the Ports Management Act 2015 (NT), the waters of Port of Darwin will reopen from 1100 on 24 November 2025. Tropical Cyclone Fina no longer poses a risk to the harbour.

Critical services including pilotage, harbour control and vessel traffic services have been restored. Vessel access to services will initially be afforded to critical NT supply chains and fuel security, before reverting to normal operating procedures in accordance with the Darwin Port Access Policy.

All persons and vessels must keep a vigilant lookout for obstacles such as trees and other debris in the water.

There remains one vessel unaccounted for and others that have grounded in areas around the harbour. These will take some time to recover and may pose a hazard to navigation.
